Annual Bow-Wows & Meows Pet Fair

Bow-Wows & Meows holds a huge community pet fair once a year. This free (to the community and their well behaved dogs) pet fair includes over 70 pet related vendors, education, entertainment, low-cost vaccine clinic, food truck Court, huge super raffle, our famous Fun Dog Show and most importantly… all 7 Los Angeles County Animal Care and Control “shelter’s” come to the fair bringing over 200 adoptable pets. By the end of our one-day fair… an average of 170 to 200 shelter and rescue animals are adopted!

The first event took place in 2001 and has grown to an incredibly popular pet fair that attracts more than 15,000 attendees to its annual event. Since its inception, Bow-Wows & Meows has become one of L.A.'s largest and most popular pet fairs of it's kind while having adopted out more than 2,500 pets from Los Angeles County Shelters, as well as local rescues.
It’s a very special and miraculous day.

Policies and processes
  • We use a vetting process to identify vendors and partners that share our commitment to race equity.
  • We have community representation at the board level, either on the board itself or through a community advisory board.
  • We engage everyone, from the board to staff levels of the organization, in race equity work and ensure that individuals understand their roles in creating culture such that one’s race identity has no influence on how they fare within the organization.
