What we aim to solve

SOURCE: Self-reported by organization

We want families facing financial hardships to have a place to turn to when in need of help. We don’t want a families first option to be giving up their beloved family member, if we are able to provide financial assistance. Education is the most powerful tool when it comes to better pet ownership.

Our programs

What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

Lending a Paw

Lending a Paw is a pet food pantry, and vaccine voucher program supported by Sandy Paws Rescue, Inc. that provides emergency supplemental dog and cat food to families in need.
This program exists because at Sandy Paws Rescue, we are all about seeing pets happy with their families. Our pets mean the world to us; They are our best friends, our family, and our reason to smile when times are hard. Because of this, our goal is to assist other families and their pets with emergency food assistance and necessary vaccinations. If a family should fall on hard times and become uncertain as to how they will afford their pet’s next meal, we will be there for them. Instead of facing an even harder decision, this family can look to Sandy Paws Rescue's 'Lending a Paw' for help, and know that their fur-family will receive what they need.

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

Our goal is to reduce the number of owner surrenders of pets to shelters and raise awareness for the need for more pet food banks, and financial assistance for pet owners. Reduce the number of accidental litters and intact animals, through education and connection with spay/neuter services.

Organization of pet food banks, and setting up special funds for families in need.

By enlisting the help of participating retailers, donors and volunteers to raise awareness.

We have provided several families in need with financial assistance for basic vetting and food. We have also successfully re-homed several pets for families who's needs and situations were beyond the scope of what Sandy Paws Rescue's programs were able to provide.
