In spiritual direction, a trained companion uses deep listening to encourage the spiritual story of the other to develop. Through this relationship, the person seeking companionship is empowered to explore a deeper experience of God or however one may refer to the ground of all being and, at the same time, enjoy a deeper experience of their own lives.

Executive Director

Doug Mantha

Doug Mantha is the Executive Director of My Oasis Center, a certified Enneagram practitioner, and spiritual director. Doug is the past chair and cofounder of Northern Michigan Interfaith Common Ground, a board member of Northwestern Michigan Habitat for Humanity, a member of Little Traverse Bay Housing Partnership, and a member of the United Way of Char-Em Advisory Committee. He has a BA in Political Science, worked in IT for 20 years, and is a past lay speaker in the United Methodist Church and church staff.
