We are (1) trying to find various ways or venues to increase donations as we can only operate based on Direct and Indirect Public Support and (2) create a group of potential foster homes in our network that we have available for those situations where the pet or pets needs to be placed temporarily until we get them into an appropriate foster home in our network.
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Pet Foster Home Program
Establishing and maintaining a network of pet care foster homes to provide a caring, loving, and safe home for beloved pets owned by military service members deploying to harm's way (combat, peace-keeping, and humanitarian mission) and short term fostering needed due to an emergency hardship.
Military Pet Assistance
(established 2008) to financially assist with pet related costs involving those pets fostered via our Foster Home program. Pet related costs can include such expenses as pet transport, additional pet training, and emergency pet boarding where we need to move a pet to a different foster home during the foster time or we need a short term (maximum 2 weeks) place to care for the pet until we can get them in an individual home due to a last minute request for our assistance. Where funds are available provide assistance to military service members, military families with a deployed spouse, and veterans in an emergency hardship. Each emergency hardship is handled on a case-by-case basis.
Warriors Angels-TX (WA-TX)
Supporting our service members and veterans who have been medically diagnosed with PTSD, TBI, or MST and official recommendation to us has been received that an "Assistance Service Dog” (ASD) will help improve the service member/veteran’s quality of life. Note: The program was introduced in Southwestern Missouri on 4/1/2013 as a pilot program and plans are underway to introduce the pilot program San Antonio, TX area on or around 10/1/2013. During April 2020 we will implementing the WA-TX program in Central TX

Goals & Strategy
Learn about the organization's key goals, strategies, capabilities, and progress.
Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
Our long range goals relate to supporting our military and veteran community with companion and/or assistance service canines by:
(1) Strengthen our financial sustainability
(2) Enhance and strengthen our Marketing, Communications, and Social Media efforts to increase public awareness regarding our mission, programs, and financial needs.
(3) Deepen relationships with the other military/veteran service/support organizations to increase our presence as a military/veteran support organization on a local, state, and national level
(4) Build bridges between our organization and key institutions (including but not limited to military installations, VA & Military medical centers, federal/state/local governments, and foundations) to increase partnership and cooperation.
(5) Increase and strengthen our volunteer national/state support teams and our foster home network
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
Our strategies are both short term and long term to accomplish our “Goals" by
(1) Ongoing outreach to our potential clients, military medical and VA facilities, prospective donors/supporters, and volunteers via social media, quarterly newsletters, word of mouth, blog, and “Information Tables" at local community and military events
(2) Identifying various platforms for recruiting volunteers via our website, newsletter, and social media outlets
(3) Identifying and implementing various Direct and Indirect Public Support venues and promoting the means available to contribute to our programs and operation needs including but not limited to our website, newsletter, blog, and social media outlets
(4) Ongoing outreach to the civilian and military communities including the VA and other organizations involved with military/veteran support efforts via word of mouth, email, social media outlets, and Information Tables at events.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
Established a Foster Home network of registered potential foster home volunteers covering all 50 states, developed and implemented state level volunteer teams, established the National Coordination Director volunteer role assisting state level coordinators and covering specific states where no coordinator is in place, established a virtual National Support Staff covering our marketing/communication efforts, Volunteer program, and maintaining the organizations website.
Since the organization began in 2005 we have implemented various ways for supporters to contribute financially when they so choose to do so through such venues as PayPal, various on-line shopping programs, and 3rd Party Fundraising capability.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
Established various programs (Pet Foster Home (available in all 50 states, MPA Fund, MVP Sanctuary in TX (under development), and Warriors' Angels in TX.
Despite these accomplishments, there is more to do: keeping the word out there via promotional materials, distributed to potential clients via their assigned military installations, military medical centers, VA med centers, and other military and veteran support groups/organizations at the national, state, and local levels. We must continue to increase awareness and establish additional ways to receive the funds needed to keep the organization going. The actual clients we are here to help will vary between deployments and those recognized as wounded warriors and/or veterans with unforeseen medical and/or are homeless, but the need for what we do will continue for many years to come.

- We engage everyone, from the board to staff levels of the organization, in race equity work and ensure that individuals understand their roles in creating culture such that one’s race identity has no influence on how they fare within the organization.
