What we aim to solve
Possibilities' mission is to strengthen the ability of people to work together for community change.\n\nPeople gain skills for creating community change and to authentically connect to others by advancing our core values:\n\n- Trust: create an environment where people feel safe.\n- Dignity: honor the worth of each person.\n- Service: start where people are and join their journey.\n\nThis is accomplished while learning to understand and address the conflict arising from our differences. The power of connection and diverse relationships is the core of our work. Connection is critical for us to flourish as humans. Our vision is to build synergy through diversity, cooperation, and creativity.

Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
Possibilities helps create change from the inside out, meaning internal character development. Today we don’t have people we disagree with, we have enemies to be destroyed. Civility is eroding away, and the most common communication we see is attacking one another. We have moved from a society where our next-door neighbors being friends and allies to one where we are watchful and mistrustful of others. When you add the isolation caused by recent events, you suddenly have an entire society locked down without any connection to the community around them. How do we talk to someone of a different race or political belief? How do we connect and find safety in those around us? We not only disagree but hate because of our differing ideas on\nrace, religion, political affiliation, and even how to stop a virus that is killing our family, friends, neighbors, and coworkers every day.\n\nPossibilities develops people’s capacity to work for positive change by breaking barriers, building bridges, and developing the skills necessary to connect with others and improve their communities. This is done by increasing every person's capacity to lead, organize, and empower others. Clients are grounded in skills to help them connect, first by breaking down barriers and then building capacity. Through our values of Trust, Dignity, and Service, common bonds are formed and community change is created.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
Possibilities helps individuals and groups facilitate the creation of common visions, relationships, leadership development, communication, decision making, and project planning, implementation, and evaluation. We develop community leaders by combining training, coaching, and project support.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
Possibilities, Inc. is an innovative social impact organization using intentional, meaningful methods to strengthen our ability to authentically connect to each other, creating new and exciting methods to create change in our communities.\n\nSince 1998, Possibilities’ programs advance the values of Trust, Dignity, and Service while addressing the conflict that arises from our differences. Our core strength is our unique approach to breaking down barriers with the goal of building the authentic relationships needed for community change. \n\nPossibilities’ focus on relationship building with diverse groups of people is accomplished through values based work. We address the barriers that can impede efforts for improvement, such as cultural/racial boundaries, age discrimination, and fear of established institutions. Participants interact on an equal playing field without regard for social status, positions, or titles. This allows them the opportunity to (re)discover their strengths and reach their full potential while being of service to others. These equal relationships allow participants to become agents of change who improve their own lives and their communities (neighborhoods, businesses, organizations, schools, houses of faith etc.).\n\nPossibilities is building a movement--if we treat each other as neighbors, we will create vibrant, thriving neighborhoods for everyone to enjoy.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
Since Possibilities inception, the organization has trained over 400 community members to facilitate change in their communities based on the core values of building trust, treating each other with dignity, and having a heart of service. These volunteers train new volunteers to create positive change in their communities, creating a continuous chain of connection and positive change.

Financial data
Possibilities, Inc.
Balance sheetFiscal Year: Jul 01 - Jun 30
The balance sheet gives a snapshot of the financial health of an organization at a particular point in time. An organization's total assets should generally exceed its total liabilities, or it cannot survive long, but the types of assets and liabilities must also be considered. For instance, an organization's current assets (cash, receivables, securities, etc.) should be sufficient to cover its current liabilities (payables, deferred revenue, current year loan, and note payments). Otherwise, the organization may face solvency problems. On the other hand, an organization whose cash and equivalents greatly exceed its current liabilities might not be putting its money to best use.

- We employ non-traditional ways of gathering feedback on programs and trainings, which may include interviews, roundtables, and external reviews with/by community stakeholders.
- We have long-term strategic plans and measurable goals for creating a culture such that one’s race identity has no influence on how they fare within the organization.
- We seek individuals from various race backgrounds for board and executive director/CEO positions within our organization.
- We have community representation at the board level, either on the board itself or through a community advisory board.
- We engage everyone, from the board to staff levels of the organization, in race equity work and ensure that individuals understand their roles in creating culture such that one’s race identity has no influence on how they fare within the organization.
