Capacity Building Institute

SFCDC facilitates Communities of Practice for disciplines within community and economic development, specifically work led by women and/or Black, Latinx, or Indigenous people.

Population(s) Served

SFCDC leads its members in engaging with local, state, and federal policy makers and staff to preserve and expand funding for community development, to use resources for community development effectively, and to implement sound community development policy. SFCDC also raises public awareness of the importance of community development.

Population(s) Served

SFCDC provides training for practitioners, advocates, and community members on a wide range of topics related to community development through an intersectional and racial equity lens. This includes technical training on specific topics as well as lectures from subject-matter-experts on emerging research, trends, and/or recent events.

Population(s) Served

SFCDC is the backbone for the PLPG coalition that envisions a Miami-Dade County in which public land use reflects harmony between environment and people. We are a group of dedicated organizations with shared values seeking to advance quality of life for low-to-moderate income neighborhoods.

Balance sheet

Fiscal Year: Jan 01 - Dec 31

SOURCE: IRS Form 990 info

The balance sheet gives a snapshot of the financial health of an organization at a particular point in time. An organization's total assets should generally exceed its total liabilities, or it cannot survive long, but the types of assets and liabilities must also be considered. For instance, an organization's current assets (cash, receivables, securities, etc.) should be sufficient to cover its current liabilities (payables, deferred revenue, current year loan, and note payments). Otherwise, the organization may face solvency problems. On the other hand, an organization whose cash and equivalents greatly exceed its current liabilities might not be putting its money to best use.
