Mission

MISSION STATEMENT:\r\nTo foster the self-expression of marginalized youth by engaging them in constant creativity and collaboration, harnessing their energy and elevating their self-esteem towards higher education and the sport of creative competition.\r\n\r\nOUR GOAL:\r\nTo generate an educated global unified body of artists who are fully self-expressed & on point to change the world through their creativity.\r\n\r\nVALUES STATEMENT:\r\nOff The Wall Graffiti sees that talent is over looked when the creation of it often destructs property. We see this as a cry for self-expression, acknowledgement and acceptance. We believe we will change their lives by giving the students an opportunity to create on sanctioned areas, have their community support them with competitions and cause others to relate to them as contributing participants in art. We strive to reach all levels of student – those who are afflicted by conflict, violence, social barriers and poverty as well as those whose talent is nurtured because we know that talent rises when urged along with a little healthy competition.\r\n\r\nWe believe that acknowledging them, mentoring them and providing a community for them will ultimately open their lives to a new future, one that they did not see for themselves prior. Our three pronged approach to competition; mentoring and scholarship will elevate the student experience much like sports have. These students will feel confident to leave their mark on society, not on private property, when they engage fully with Off The Wall Graffiti.\r\n\r\nBy affecting artists doing graffiti along with the culture shift about graffiti and street art which is in an undeniable groundswell, globally we will leave a legacy of a unified body of artists who indeed change lives.

Notes from the nonprofit

Everything you see from OTWG, whether it’s Facebook, Instagram, or our website, has been self-funded, sponsored, or donated. We do not have a primary benefactor, so we are looking for that special or persons who can help us succeed.\r\nWe are the only non-profit focused on the whole artist, their overall wellbeing as well as their artistic development.\r\nOur goal is to have programs at every park across the US with spaces for mentor and artists to apply their artistic talent through our M2ART program. Our education target is a 100% high school graduation rate and a 75%+ college matriculation rate. We will begin competitions supporting graffiti as an extreme sport that will add to our culture monetarily and creatively, which will, in turn, result in artists becoming mentors and thriving members of the community. A documentary about our artists’ lives and how we manage misbehavior and creativity is in process.

Our programs

What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

M2ART

Making Mural Art - every month we study with artists and focus on a period of art history, telling stories about the artists. We draw, paint and scale for murals in that period, then end with a mural in that same style themed for the holiday of the month. We repeat this every month. We meet once a week for four hours but it can also be an afterschool program. We want it to be paired with permanent walls in every park in the nation, but especially at skateparks. Paint N SK8 parks. We will design and maintain the walls, provide the education and supply the paint when fully funded.

Goals & Strategy

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

1. to fundraise our entire budget for 2015\r\n2. to double our impact in Los Angeles at sites we are already working\r\n3. initiate projects in NYC, Miami, Detroit, Boston, Austin and Pittsburgh\r\n4. fly 5 artists to another state for mural making\r\n5. install five parks with permanent walls and education thru M2ART

1. We have a list of 100 possible donors who we will request 1-5000 from until we have a yes or no for this year.\r\n2. We will complete the curriculum for M2ART and package it for sale.\r\n3. We will plan a trip which will travel these artists.\r\n4. We will have 8 parlour parties and raise over $1000 per party.\r\n5. We will apply for funding.

We need more people helping but our founders are qualified to orchestrate and teach others to do the work.

We have not had a parlour party and we have not sent emails to all 100 people. Our program is not funded yet and therefore we are not reliably drawing artists every Saturday to our program. We are not covering our infrastructure costs. We have established the budget and have garnered interest nationwide for our work to be initiated. We do not have a single consistent major backer who sees off the wall as their battle cry. We have not reached out to the celebrity community yet.
