What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

Life Affirming Compassion

The purpose of this program is to train people to be a "good neighbor" to those who are suffering poverty, whether that be financial woes, homelessness, joblessness, or lack of relationships. People who enter this program will complete the True Charity University online training (university.truecharity.us) and receive continual monthly training in the 7 Principles of Effective Compassion. Once the initial training is complete, these men and women make a 4-year commitment and are available to reach out to individuals who are experiencing or preparing for some kind of life-changing event. They will meet regularly with those "brothers and sisters" to help them determine their paths to freedom and help connect them with a network of individuals, churches, and/or faith-based enterprises equipped to meet their needs.

Population(s) Served
Adults

This program provides an opportunity for those who are experiencing poverty or a life-changing event to receive scholarships to recovery programs or work programs in order to lift themselves out of poverty. Each individual will commit to 3 years of working with a "good neighbor" to plot a course to meet and overcome their obstacles. They will take advantage of community connections in order to establish work or home placements. The goal is not only to move out of poverty, but to also develop habits and relationships that will prevent poverty from occurring in the future. The extended time is designed to make a large impact in one person's life.

Founder & President

Geoffrey Emanuel Lapp

Drawing upon his previous work experience in sales, property management, human resources, and teaching, Geoff Lapp has founded Minutemen-UNITED. After 30 years of being challenged by godly men and women regarding life, truth, and joy, his desire is to help others in need by connecting them to a network of individuals or organizations equipped to help them succeed. His goal is to share the lessons he has learned by coming alongside those who are in the middle of a significant life changing event and pointing them to the God who saves and the people who can help.
