Muhammad Faress Bhuiyan
Faress Bhuiyan is a Bangladeshi American development economist specializing in economic development, labor, and happiness economics. After completing his PhD from Northwestern University (IL, USA), Prof. Bhuiyan joined Carleton College (MN, USA) where he is an associate professor of economics. His published work spans a wide breadth of topics including economic status, quality of life, microcredit, survey methodology, labor supply, and human suffering. Prof. Bhuiyan is the founder and president of Nourish Bangladesh, a multinational volunteer-driven non-profit that rigorously vets and fundraises for NGOs and grassroot groups who fight hunger in Bangladesh. He is married to his best friend Rhea and is the proud father of two boys, Wali and Rafael.
