Public Outreach Social Media Campaigns
Through social media channels we create content to educate the public about the safe way to use acetaminophen and the dangers that exist and are associated with its use. We also provide wellness information and methods to treat pain that allow the avoidance of pain medications. While located in Wellington Florida, our goal is to reach a broad audience across the Unites States through this campaign. Further, because acetaminophen poisoning affects four key groups: young adults 17-25, the elderly, families with young children and those with limited access to healthcare, Catie's Cause aims to educate all these groups.

Founder & President
Karen Smith
Karen Smith founded Catie’s Cause in April 2021, to honor her daughter, Catie who died from acetaminophen (Tylenol) poisoning in December 2020 at just 20 years old. Karen learned that many are injured and die this way and decided she wanted to help reduce acetaminophen deaths and injuries through education and awareness, hitting a broad audience through multiple methods. Throughout her life, she been a volunteer helping those in need, and serving on other non-profit boards. She enjoys mentoring the interns and volunteers who are the engine behind Catie’s Cause. She is a lifelong college educator and truly enjoys seeing lives change through education. She firmly believes that there must be a way to create a safer alternative than acetaminophen. She looks forward to it being brought to market in the future so that Catie's Cause will no longer be needed.
