What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
ArchKIDtecture
To present the subject of Architecture to children so that they will explore and learn how buildings and cities are built.
Kids Asking Questions
The concept for Kids Asking Questions was created in response to our normal museum programs being cancelled due to the Covid19 pandemic. Many of our programs include discussions about career paths. Since we could not gather for in person hands on learning experiences, we created an online platform where children ask questions of professionals represented in each of our exhibit areas. These professionals have included scientists, actors, engineers, inventors, and more!
To maintain safety, children (their parents) will are given questions to ask our career professionals and record them at home. That video is then be shared with our career professional to video record their answer. Both videos are edited for a 2-5 minute clip and shared on our Youtube channel, webpage and our social media outlets. Videos are shared with schools, early learning centers, and after school programs for viewing.
Sidewalk Science
Sidewalk Science is a “pop up” museum program of JJs Playhouse Children’s Museum & Gym. We will “pop up” at various locations and teach various topics about Earth and Science to small groups, socially distanced, on the sidewalk. The activities are all hands on and most involve some type of Science experiment.
