We support policies that treat all immigrants -- documented and undocumented -- with dignity and respect.
We support protecting refugees from unstable or unsafe circumstances affecting their home countries.

Aurora's Participatory Democracy Hub
Indivisible Aurora, Illinois Alliance for Reentry & Justice, and Black Alliance for Peace are working together to launch a participatory democracy hub in Aurora, IL. Currently, local legislation is driven by politically connected organizations and people. Entire communities are excluded from any input in the legislative process, which constitutes the feedback, ideation, and creation of laws. This project attempts to change this by establishing a participatory democracy hub in Aurora, IL that will empower the community to play an active role in local democracy.
Aurora Community Fridge Project
Community fridges, aka Solidarity, Hope, or Honesty fridges, are a practice of mutual aid whereby the community is responsible for caring for one another and by practice improving accessibility to needed resources. And in the case of community fridges, the resource is food. We partner with the Aurora Interfaith Food Pantry to provide bi-weekly food drop-offs to the fridge. We rely on the community and volunteers to supplement additional foods as well as to clean and maintain the fridge. www.indivisibleaurora.org/fridgeproject
The Peoples Coalition for Freedom & Safety
We are a partner in the IL coalition of the national "Freedom & Safety" project which has a focus of repealing and replacing the harmful 1994 federal crime bill.

- We ask team members to identify racial disparities in their programs and / or portfolios.
- We employ non-traditional ways of gathering feedback on programs and trainings, which may include interviews, roundtables, and external reviews with/by community stakeholders.
- We seek individuals from various race backgrounds for board and executive director/CEO positions within our organization.
- We have community representation at the board level, either on the board itself or through a community advisory board.
- We help senior leadership understand how to be inclusive leaders with learning approaches that emphasize reflection, iteration, and adaptability.
