What we aim to solve

SOURCE: Self-reported by organization

Wings of Rescue flies overlooked, at-risk pets from disaster areas and overcrowded open admission shelters to brick and mortar shelters where there are waiting adopters and empty kennel space - and makes sure that no local shelter pets are displaced by our flights. Additionally we sponsor free spay/neuter events to reduce shelter overcrowding and deliver humanitarian aid to disaster victims.

Why We Must Fly!

Wings of Rescue is a donation based charity, flying large numbers of at risk, healthy pets long distances from high intake shelters to our network of no-kill shelters throughout the United States and Canada. Founded in 2012, Wings of Rescue has a squadron of volunteer pilots flying the rescue missions in their own planes, as well as a fleet of chartered cargo planes. Since our inception, over 70,000 pets have been flown to safety.

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

Wings of Rescue's mission is to fly large-scale transports of at-risk pets from disaster areas and overcrowded shelters to shelters where there is empty kennel space and where no local shelter pets are displaced by our flights.

Wings of Rescue has volunteer pilots with their own planes and a fleet of chartered cargo planes at our disposal. We use these aircraft to fly at-risk shelter pets to shelters where there is empty kennel space and where no local shelter pets are displaced by our flights.

We have flown over 66,000 pets to safety since our inception in 2012. We utilize a squadron of airplanes and both volunteer and paid pilots to transport these pets in crates which we own.

We have been able to fly over 66,000 pets to safety and delivered over 886,000 pounds of humanitarian aid to hurricane victims in the Bahamas, Puerto Rico and other hard hit areas. Unfortunately due to global warming hurricanes have gotten progressively stronger and more damaging and Wings of Rescue is on standby always to respond.

Balance sheet

Fiscal Year: Jan 01 - Dec 31

SOURCE: IRS Form 990 info

The balance sheet gives a snapshot of the financial health of an organization at a particular point in time. An organization's total assets should generally exceed its total liabilities, or it cannot survive long, but the types of assets and liabilities must also be considered. For instance, an organization's current assets (cash, receivables, securities, etc.) should be sufficient to cover its current liabilities (payables, deferred revenue, current year loan, and note payments). Otherwise, the organization may face solvency problems. On the other hand, an organization whose cash and equivalents greatly exceed its current liabilities might not be putting its money to best use.
