Mission

The Reading Theater Project is a locally-focused, professional theater company, based in Greater Reading/Berks County, PA. We produce new theater with a focus on the creative process for the artists involved, resulting in a unique production for the audience. We value collaboration and creative challenges and believe theater is an inclusive experience that can reveal our shared human condition. Risk-taking and art-making are at the forefront of what we do.

Play Reading Series

The Reading Theater Project’s Play Reading Series creates opportunities for playwrights to see and hear their work and receive feedback on new plays. RTP creates a safe artistic space for playwrights to return to again and again to develop new work before sending it out for performance and publication.

Selected plays will receive a staged reading. The readings in the series are all public, with admission by donation, and followed by a discussion with the audience and playwright, facilitated by the Artistic or Literary Director of Reading Theater Project.
