Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
PRA aims to reach women and families in our community facing unexpected pregnancies by offering unconditional compassion and high-quality healthcare. PRA believes the empowerment of individuals will strengthen families and have a meaningful and lasting impact in our community.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
Programs and services at PRA continually evolve to adapt to the needs of our unique population. Leadership and service providers evaluate the challenges our clients face on their journey from the moment they suspect they are pregnant to raising their child in a safe, stable, joyful, thriving home. We then work to implement effective programs and services to facilitate our clients’ progress in a loving, interactive environment.
PRA is strategically positioned to be the first contact for those in crisis. We connect clients to a wealth of community services offered through other Big Country organizations. Connecting clients to medical and community resources improves stability and outcomes for individuals and families.
PRA creatively engages with our unique population through strategic, digital outreach by using social media and our interactive website. We will continue to build public relationships by participating in various school and community events, establishing PRA as the resource for an unexpected pregnancy or challenging family situation.
Our mission to love, encourage, and empower is fulfilled through the following services:
~Medical Services~
Life-affirming programs serving women, their partners and their babies. Services include pregnancy testing, pregnancy verification through limited ultrasound exams, pre-natal consultation, medical referrals, and peri-natal hospice.
~Support Services~
Programs focusing on providing compassionate support and positive solutions. Services include pregnancy option consultation, professional counseling, emotional and spiritual support, baby supplies, community resource referrals, parenting and life skills classes, GED assistance, postpartum depression screenings and intervention, pregnancy loss grief support, and after-abortion care.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
Since 1983, PRA continues to be a financially solid and publicly supported organization. We have strong backing of a generous community and honorable oversight of an invested governing Board of Directors. We have built dependable relationships with community agencies expanding the resources available to our clients and our local recognition. Partnerships with churches provide active volunteers, material and spiritual support, as well as, increased awareness of our services.
PRA continually invests in our staff by providing professional development in each unique role through individual and conference trainings. For example, our Client Advocates receive ongoing instruction in areas such as compassionate crisis support and reproductive grief care. Medical staff complete accredited certifications and participate in regular continuing education. Our Outreach Coordinator stays current with the trends in marketing and social media facilitating a dynamic online presence. We are able to engage our specific client demographic and build a digital connection, so when they need us the relationship has already been created and they have come to already feel safe, comfortable, and welcome.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
For well over 35 years, PRA has helped transform and save thousands of lives by offering compassionate support and positive solutions. We have embraced a spirit of excellence in all things, earning the respect and support of our community. We will continue to adapt how we fulfill our mission to best meet our client’s needs, filling in the gaps or bridging the gaps from our client’s current challenging situation to their thriving future.

Balance sheetFiscal Year: Jan 01 - Dec 31
The balance sheet gives a snapshot of the financial health of an organization at a particular point in time. An organization's total assets should generally exceed its total liabilities, or it cannot survive long, but the types of assets and liabilities must also be considered. For instance, an organization's current assets (cash, receivables, securities, etc.) should be sufficient to cover its current liabilities (payables, deferred revenue, current year loan, and note payments). Otherwise, the organization may face solvency problems. On the other hand, an organization whose cash and equivalents greatly exceed its current liabilities might not be putting its money to best use.

- We analyze disaggregated data and root causes of race disparities that impact the organization's programs, portfolios, and the populations served.
- We disaggregate data to adjust programming goals to keep pace with changing needs of the communities we support.
- We employ non-traditional ways of gathering feedback on programs and trainings, which may include interviews, roundtables, and external reviews with/by community stakeholders.
- We disaggregate data by demographics, including race, in every policy and program measured.
- We have long-term strategic plans and measurable goals for creating a culture such that one’s race identity has no influence on how they fare within the organization.
- We seek individuals from various race backgrounds for board and executive director/CEO positions within our organization.
- We have community representation at the board level, either on the board itself or through a community advisory board.
- We help senior leadership understand how to be inclusive leaders with learning approaches that emphasize reflection, iteration, and adaptability.
