The following programs directly helps bridge the gap for transitioning service members, Veterans and military family members: scholarships for professional development and ongoing skills training; 1:1 and group mentorship; free conference tickets; creating paid Apprenticeship-to-Hire programs with tech enterprises/employers; case management and wraparound services; ongoing in-person chapter events ; and, providing tech workshops and guest speakers.

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

Operation Code is leading the way to expand opportunities for military veterans and their families. We aim to help veterans learn new skills and build their careers in the fast-growing technology sector. Our team’s mission - led by veterans and other dedicated, passionate volunteers - is to help open doors for our diverse member base through unique program offerings, such as our Software Mentor Program, conference scholarships, and employment services. All of this is made possible by individual donations and corporate partnerships.

Aside from our work on the Hill, we offer many services to the military community and are continuing to expand our offerings as often as possible. First and foremost, our staff works tirelessly to provide mentorship for veterans interested in learning about various tech careers. Dozens of software engineers, product managers, system architects, security engineers, and various other IT professionals act as 1-on-1 mentors to all of our members.

This year (2021) we are more than 8,000 members strong—with 200 joining every month and 19 local chapters, including Boston! Operation Code's plan for 2021 is straightforward—We are going to build our open source program. We are going to grow our community. In short, we are going to do more of what we are doing because in too many cases our members face financial barriers and other hardships that can prevent them from getting started.

Balance sheet

Fiscal Year: Jan 01 - Dec 31

SOURCE: IRS Form 990 info

The balance sheet gives a snapshot of the financial health of an organization at a particular point in time. An organization's total assets should generally exceed its total liabilities, or it cannot survive long, but the types of assets and liabilities must also be considered. For instance, an organization's current assets (cash, receivables, securities, etc.) should be sufficient to cover its current liabilities (payables, deferred revenue, current year loan, and note payments). Otherwise, the organization may face solvency problems. On the other hand, an organization whose cash and equivalents greatly exceed its current liabilities might not be putting its money to best use.
