What we aim to solve
Operation Code is committed to being the leading military service organization for members of the military community who want to enter the tech industry. We will deploy our commitment to open source and our tech industry expertise to help veterans, service members and military spouses transition to successful, meaningful careers. Operation Code will lead by helping to solve the nation’s technical talent shortage and fostering a new generation of service-minded tech industry leaders.

Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
Operation Code is leading the way to expand opportunities for military veterans and their families. We aim to help veterans learn new skills and build their careers in the fast-growing technology sector. Our team’s mission - led by veterans and other dedicated, passionate volunteers - is to help open doors for our diverse member base through unique program offerings, such as our Software Mentor Program, conference scholarships, and employment services. All of this is made possible by individual donations and corporate partnerships.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
Aside from our work on the Hill, we offer many services to the military community and are continuing to expand our offerings as often as possible. First and foremost, our staff works tirelessly to provide mentorship for veterans interested in learning about various tech careers. Dozens of software engineers, product managers, system architects, security engineers, and various other IT professionals act as 1-on-1 mentors to all of our members.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
In 2024, our Operation Code family has grown to an impressive 13,514 members, with 100 new faces joining every month and 19 local chapters, including our vibrant Boston chapter! Our mission this year is clear: we're ramping up our open-source programs, offering more scholarships, and expanding our supportive community. We’re doubling down on our efforts because too many of our members still face financial hurdles and other challenges that hold them back.

Financial data
Operation Code
Balance sheetFiscal Year: Jan 01 - Dec 31
The balance sheet gives a snapshot of the financial health of an organization at a particular point in time. An organization's total assets should generally exceed its total liabilities, or it cannot survive long, but the types of assets and liabilities must also be considered. For instance, an organization's current assets (cash, receivables, securities, etc.) should be sufficient to cover its current liabilities (payables, deferred revenue, current year loan, and note payments). Otherwise, the organization may face solvency problems. On the other hand, an organization whose cash and equivalents greatly exceed its current liabilities might not be putting its money to best use.
