Weekly Meetings
Weekly support group meetings held every Tuesday from 1800 - 1930 (6pm - 7:30pm) at Antelope Valley College Veteran Center, 3041 W. Avenue K, Lancaster, CA 93534. These meetings allow military veterans of all ages to meet in a safe environment to share stories and help each other heal. Mike is assisted two Marriage and Family Therapists who are also Army veterans.

Outpost Leader
Mike Bertell
Mike Bertell is a native Californian. He was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1969 and served in the U.S. Army from until August, 1971. His first assignment was with the 4/9th Battalion 25th Infantry Division. He was reassigned within two months to the 1/327th Battalion 101st Airborne Division. Most of his time in country was spent in the jungles of Vietnam. His unit suffered catastrophic damage from friendly fire on December 24, 1970. Mike was fortunate to survive the incident and receive an honorable discharge in August, 1971. For his service, Mike received the Vietnam Service Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Air Medal. Most recently, Mike received the Honorary Air Assault Medal at a ceremony in Fort Campbell, KY.
Mike ran a successful upholster shop in Lancaster, CA for over 40 years. In his retirement, Mike is enjoying fly fishing, traveling, and repairing and riding English motorcycles.
