Mission

We strive to ensure the health and safety of all animals that are homeless, abused, in natural disasters, indigent, and pets that are the victims of domestic violence. We accomplish this through both short and long-term immediate actions such as arranging for financial assistance for the needs, costs of veterinary care and emergency medical treatment for animals. Additionally, we engage with rescue organizations by offering financial assistance on an as needed basis for the medical care of animals. We are working towards helping victims and their pets who are victims of domestic violence by building kennel runs and a play area at the Domestic Violence shelter so no pet is left behind. This way the victim does not stay in the abusive situation and together they can heal and feel safe.

Debbie Darino

Debbie Darino is the President and Founder of The Ponce Animal Foundation, Inc., a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Through her tireless work as the creator of Ponce’s Law, the felony animal cruelty statute for the state of Florida, many other efforts to help with the protection of animals were created also. As a result of her work on behalf of all animals, she was awarded the following: The Ponce Animal Foundation President and Founder Debbie Darino Top Ten Animal Defenders in America 2019 from the ALDF Humanitarian of the Year from the Halifax Humane Society Canine Warrior Award from the Veteran’s Group Ormond Strong Best Practices Award from FAC Proclamation naming “Debbie Darino Day” from Volusia County, FL Certificate of Appreciation from the Town of Ponce Inlet
