What we aim to solve

SOURCE: Self-reported by organization

The Asher House Animal Sanctuary is a registered 501c3, and we rescue and rehabilitate animals that have been abused, abandoned, or discarded and provide them with a safe home. The abundance of abandoned and neglected animals across the United States, in conjunction with an ever-rising number of owner surrenders, has created a crisis in the world of rescue. We are on a mission to make the world a better place, one rescue animal at a time.

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

Our overarching goal is to save as many animals as we can, ensuring they receive comprehensive assessments and veterinary care, and advocating for their well-being and rights. One of our primary objectives is to advocate for the rescue and protection of animals, promoting awareness about the importance of rescuing and caring for animals in need. We aim to create a positive impact by prioritizing animal welfare and promoting compassion towards all living beings.

We maintain a robust network of rescues and shelters nationwide to provide resources and facilitate adoptions.

Our organization spearheads a national spay and neuter program as a key strategy to promote responsible pet ownership.

Through community involvement initiatives such as library partnerships, school assemblies, and homeless outreach, we raise awareness about animal welfare and encourage adoption.

Additionally, we offer financial support to shelters and rescues in underserved areas to ensure all animals receive the care they deserve.

By leveraging these strategies, we work tirelessly to create a more compassionate society where animals are valued and protected.

We have impacted many lives through our rescue networks, our national spay and neuter programs, and community involvement.

We have saved hundreds of animals, made people smile, and inspired others to choose rescue. We currently have over 140 animals residing at our sanctuary, including dogs, cats, birds, donkeys, llamas, alpacas, cows, horses, pigs, goats, sheep and even a ram. Additionally, we have found hundreds of homes for dogs by coordinating adoptions through our partners.

Balance sheet

Fiscal Year: Jan 01 - Dec 31

SOURCE: IRS Form 990 info

The balance sheet gives a snapshot of the financial health of an organization at a particular point in time. An organization's total assets should generally exceed its total liabilities, or it cannot survive long, but the types of assets and liabilities must also be considered. For instance, an organization's current assets (cash, receivables, securities, etc.) should be sufficient to cover its current liabilities (payables, deferred revenue, current year loan, and note payments). Otherwise, the organization may face solvency problems. On the other hand, an organization whose cash and equivalents greatly exceed its current liabilities might not be putting its money to best use.
