Home Hospice Care

This program allows terminally ill individuals to remain in the comfort of their home while receiving expert medical care. Supported by the clinical guidance and compassion of the Angela Hospice team, a family caregiver is trained to be directly involved in caring for their loved one

Open since 1994, our inpatient Care Center provides a home away from home for hospice patients. The hospice team supports patients around the clock, and family and friends may visit at any time.

This program, designed for children who are facing a terminal illness, aims at allowing children to receive medical care in their own home, where they are more comfortable and can enjoy the support of family and loved ones. The interdisciplinary pediatric team provides individualized care aimed at keeping children alert and comfortable, helping them to live as fully as possible.

The Prenatal Hospice Program was created to help expecting parents whose unborn baby may not survive, or may be born with a life-threatening illness. The prenatal team offers counseling and support, helping parents in both welcoming the baby, and if necessary, saying “goodbye.”

President & CEO

Marti Coplai

Marti Coplai joined Angela Hospice in Oct. 2015 as Executive Director, before becoming President & CEO in March 2019. Prior to working at Angela Hospice, Coplai was Associate Executive Director for Evangelical Homes of Michigan, and had experience with Glacier Hills and Arbor Hospice. A licensed Nursing Home Administrator with the State of Michigan, Coplai has worked in senior living and hospice services for the last 15 years, with an emphasis on end-of-life care, dementia care, and leading culture transformation. An alumna of Michigan State University, Coplai transitioned from marketing to healthcare after becoming a hospice volunteer in 2001. In 2009 she was certified as a Master Trainer in the Best Friends™ Approach to Dementia Care, and in 2012 she was consecrated as a Diakonal Minister by the Christian Health and Human Services Ministry. She serves on the advisory boards of The Senior Alliance and the Catholic Funeral and Cemetery Council for the Archdiocese of Detroit.
