What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

Education

Free Quarterly Breakfast with the Experts on lupus related topics for patients and their families, tri-annual Continuing Medical Education designed to educate medical professionals about lupus, diagnosis, and the latest treatments, annual Lupus Symposium, Lupus Youth Day, a program geared toward children and young adults with Lupus and encompasses education and social activities, and a monthly Teleconference Series on lupus topics to make education available for those with limited mobility or inflexible schedules.

Population(s) Served
Adults

The Patient Access to Healthcare (PATH) program provides grants up to $5000/year to patients for medically necessary services which would otherwise be unaffordable.  Patients are required to fill out an application and have a physician verification of a diagnosis of lupus.  They must meet certain income qualifications and if approved, funds will only be paid for medical needs.

Population(s) Served
Adults

We work with the federal government to ensure they are doing everything in their power to advance our understanding of lupus and accelerate the search for new treatments.

Balance sheet

Fiscal Year: Oct 01 - Sep 30

SOURCE: IRS Form 990 info

The balance sheet gives a snapshot of the financial health of an organization at a particular point in time. An organization's total assets should generally exceed its total liabilities, or it cannot survive long, but the types of assets and liabilities must also be considered. For instance, an organization's current assets (cash, receivables, securities, etc.) should be sufficient to cover its current liabilities (payables, deferred revenue, current year loan, and note payments). Otherwise, the organization may face solvency problems. On the other hand, an organization whose cash and equivalents greatly exceed its current liabilities might not be putting its money to best use.
