Training for Active Bystanders

The training seeks to build connections and resolve conflicts by partnering with Quabbin Mediation that helps facilitate trainings. Workshops are conducted that identify hate incidents and how to properly respond. This grew out of witnessing several racially charged events in the Bridgewater area. Many of our membership have attended the workshops and have gone on to become trainers. BCCR has now sponsored and given Bystander Trainings in Bridgewater and surrounding towns.

Forums have been presented at the Bridgewater Public Library or recently on zoom. They are presented as a public service for Bridgewater and surrounding communities. Topics have covered: Gender and Intersectionality; Post election - where do we go from here?; Current struggles of Wampanoag and related New England Tribes; Diversity, Empowerment and Inclusion; Policing in the Bridgewater and others. The format can be a panel or individual speakers. Interaction with the public is encouraged. These have been most beneficial and we have had very positive responses from those in attendance.
