Mission

516 Project, Inc is a Christian based 501c3 non-profit construction ministry based in Fredericksburg, Va. Founded in 2016. Matthew 5:16 says, Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." Our focus is to help people through service by assisting families that can't afford or have a physical barrier to perform home repairs. We want to be servants to the Lord so that all that see the work we do will know it is through His grace and mercy. Our main work is in home repairs, handicap access and disaster relief.

What we aim to solve

SOURCE: Self-reported by organization

516 Project focuses on 2 areas of support. First, we address home repair issues for folks that need repairs to their homes to keep them warm, safe and dry. Much of our work is done for elderly and/or disabled citizens that need wheelchair ramps, disability showers, roof repair, etc. Disability modifications are made to the interior of their home for ease of movement around their home. Second, 516 Project responds to disasters of hurricanes, tornados, floods and others where victims need help with home repair.

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

We want to share the love of Jesus with those in need. Our goal is to help people understand that Jesus loves them as we help to take care of a physical need that they have. We build access to hope.

We utilize workdays and volunteers to complete repair projects for the families we serve. For disaster relief trips we coordinate with local churches and businesses to help victims.

We currently have approx 500 registered volunteers of varying skill levels. We also have the tools and equipment necessary to complete the projects we perform. Our leadership is trained in home repair, construction methods and disaster relief processes.

In 2022, we accomplished the following:
• 170 Projects for 351 people including 22 ramps and 14 bathrooms
• Includes projects for 62 disabled persons and 22 veteran recipients
• 4 Disaster relief trips including flooding in North Carolina, Hurricanes in Florida and Tornadoes in Kentucky
• Launched our Panama City, Florida site
• 9,800 volunteer hours
• Economic Impact of $522K (this is the amount these individuals would have had to spend with contractors in today’s market)
• We moved into our new office in Caroline county
• We added more capabilities for our Disaster Relief teams with a shower trailer, disaster relief trailer and a few trucks for hauling our equipment

Balance sheet

Fiscal Year: Jan 01 - Dec 31

SOURCE: IRS Form 990 info

The balance sheet gives a snapshot of the financial health of an organization at a particular point in time. An organization's total assets should generally exceed its total liabilities, or it cannot survive long, but the types of assets and liabilities must also be considered. For instance, an organization's current assets (cash, receivables, securities, etc.) should be sufficient to cover its current liabilities (payables, deferred revenue, current year loan, and note payments). Otherwise, the organization may face solvency problems. On the other hand, an organization whose cash and equivalents greatly exceed its current liabilities might not be putting its money to best use.
