What we aim to solve
Animals everywhere need help, and people need to recognize opportunities and inspiration to take action to help them. By rescuing dozens of animals every day, we provide opportunities and inspiration for ordinary people too, to directly help animals. Most Indian villages and cities have no rescue and treatment resources for street animals. Animal Aid’s staff, volunteers and rescued animals, in person and by sharing their rescue stories and vegan values in classrooms and in social media, inspire and teach others to help animals in their own areas.
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Street animal rescue
Animal Aid Unlimited's mission is to rescue and treat the un-owned street animals of Udaipur (Rajasthan, India) who have become ill or injured, and through their rescue inspire a community to protect and defend the lives of all animals.
Our helpline receive an average of 80 to 150 rescue requests every day, and we admit 20-30 animals every day. We have 5 ambulances active from 7AM to 12AM.
Animal Birth Control
We sterilize more than 1300 dogs every year, and in 2023 we launched our new Catch, Neuter, Vaccinate, Return (CNVR) program, with the goal of drastically increasing the number of spayed/neutered and vaccinated animals.

Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
Animal Aid Unlimited tries to strengthen people’s expression of compassion to take action to protect animals from harm. AAU gives people the opportunity to directly interact with animals, and guides them toward understanding the concept of animals’ feelings, rights and needs. AAU believes people can change and that animals themselves, directly and through videos, photographs and narratives, inspire change. AAU’s outreach shares the value to animals of not using them in food, in clothing, in labor, in experimentation. Our rescued animals are ambassadors for the billions of animals suffering because of farming, pesticides, deforestation and other man-made disasters.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
Making it easy, meaningful and fun for volunteers and visitors from all backgrounds and at all levels of awareness to spend time interacting with rescued animals, in person and hands-on; creating a setting, within the hospital and shelter, for people to really connect with animals in a context where animals are relaxed and surrounded by comforting care-givers; using various platforms, techniques and styles to share our institutional assertion that animals everywhere need our protection; capturing in various media animals’ desperation and sharing it with people; showing and teaching people using film, conversation and hands-on animal contact how important, easy and fun it is to stop using animal products and to protect and respect animals’ feelings.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
Animal Aid Unlimited has tremendous popularity in social media; we have (in 2021) 120 full-time staff devoted to rescue and treatment of street animals. The leadership and visionaries behind and inside Animal Aid Unlimited believe in people’s capacity to change and grow in compassion. They strive to provide opportunities for animals to inspire us to use strength to protect, not to dominate the vulnerable.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
From 2001 to 2021 we have rescued and saved about 125,000 animals; we run an 85-kennel spay-neuter center; in social media we have become one of India’s most popular charities in any category; we run a First Aid Training Program for Indians who are starting rescue services in their own villages and cities. We ensure internationally-recognized, peer-reviewed treatment protocols are followed. We have spoken to thousands of students in classrooms. We will continue to conduct rescue, develop volunteers, train rescuers, pursue cruelty cases, educate in classrooms and on site on new purchased land. We will set up a call center where rescuers and animal advocates can get needed support and continue striving to make the world kinder for everybody.

ANIMAL AID UNLIMITED
Balance sheetFiscal Year: Jan 01 - Dec 31
The balance sheet gives a snapshot of the financial health of an organization at a particular point in time. An organization's total assets should generally exceed its total liabilities, or it cannot survive long, but the types of assets and liabilities must also be considered. For instance, an organization's current assets (cash, receivables, securities, etc.) should be sufficient to cover its current liabilities (payables, deferred revenue, current year loan, and note payments). Otherwise, the organization may face solvency problems. On the other hand, an organization whose cash and equivalents greatly exceed its current liabilities might not be putting its money to best use.
