Grant Allocations Program
Founded in 1947 as an organization of neighbors helping neighbors. The mission of the Concord-Carlisle Community Chest is to engage our community to help neighbors in need. Local businesses and individuals share with us their philanthropic gifts of time, expertise, and financial resources. We translate that support into essential aid for individuals and nonprofit human service organizations serving residents in Concord and Carlisle.
We’re the only organization responding to a wide spectrum of critical issues in Concord and Carlisle by addressing: mental health, food insecurity, elder support, affordable housing, education, childcare and family services, physical disabilities, legal aid, domestic violence.
A single donation supports multiple organizations and programs, delivering a holistic approach to an individual or family’s multifaceted needs. Since 2018, the Community Chest has invested more than $2.5 million back into our communities.
Cornerstone Initiative
The Cornerstone Initiative was established in 1995 as a source of grant-based and special funding with a focus on serving youth and seniors, specifically for pilot or innovative programs.
Cornerstone Initiative Innovation Grant Program - The Cornerstone Initiative Innovation grants are a renewed commitment to address important needs in our community in new and creative ways. We are pleased to have awarded a total of $35,762 to five organizations in 2021-2022.
The Cornerstone Initiative Scholarship of the Community Chest: Advancing Racial Justice and Equity - In collaboration with the Scholarship Fund of Concord and Carlisle, this scholarship is given to candidates who have demonstrated interest in, experience in or commitment to racial justice, equity, or working with historically underserved or underprivileged populations. We are pleased to have awarded a $5,000 scholarship in 2022.
Campership Fund
The Campership Fund assists families in Concord and Carlisle who would otherwise not be able to afford the expense of summer camps. In the summer of 2022 we helped 14 children attend camp with $5,135 in campership support.
When-In-Need (WIN) Fund
The When-In-Need Fund supports unexpected or emergency living expenses for Concord and Carlisle families. The Fund has distributed $14,076 for emergency needs such as COVID related expenses, rent, medical costs, car repairs, and utility bills in 2021-2022.

Balance sheetFiscal Year: Jul 01 - Jun 30
The balance sheet gives a snapshot of the financial health of an organization at a particular point in time. An organization's total assets should generally exceed its total liabilities, or it cannot survive long, but the types of assets and liabilities must also be considered. For instance, an organization's current assets (cash, receivables, securities, etc.) should be sufficient to cover its current liabilities (payables, deferred revenue, current year loan, and note payments). Otherwise, the organization may face solvency problems. On the other hand, an organization whose cash and equivalents greatly exceed its current liabilities might not be putting its money to best use.
