Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
The Rehabilitation Center for Children and Adults provides occupational, physical and speech therapy to help people improve their independence, physical function and communication. Our Occupational, Physical and Speech therapists
strive to improve function so that individuals may return to work, school and play.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
Any patient with a physical or speech disability, regardless of age or financial status, may be admitted for physical, occupational or speech therapy. New patients will be evaluated including objective measurements, an assessment of needs and a plan of treatment for individualized care. Daily treatment notes include status in relation to goal attainment, reassessment measures as needed to revise the plan of treatment and time frames. Discharge reporting compares admission data to discharge data, treatment summary and outcomes of individualized goals.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
Founded in 1940 as the Crippled Children's Society, the Rehabilitation Center for Children and Adults (RCCA) continues an outpatient medical rehabilitation program which is individualized, interdisciplinary and outcomes focused, to help people with physical disabilities through physical, occupational and speech therapy.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
Of the 607 people served, we provided 11,097 treatments during the past fiscal year. Of the patients measured center-wide, 95% were discharged with an improved outcome. The major patient characteristics were 94% adults, 83% musculoskeletal, 78% Medicare, and 70% Palm Beach residents.
Our Vision is to provide quality care to people with physical disabilities regardless of their financial ability.
Our Mission is to improve people's physical function, communication skills and independence.
Our Goal is to improve over 90% of the 750 people served annually.
Our Services provided are outpatient physical, occupational and speech therapy and preschool.

Balance sheetFiscal Year: Sep 01 - Aug 31
The balance sheet gives a snapshot of the financial health of an organization at a particular point in time. An organization's total assets should generally exceed its total liabilities, or it cannot survive long, but the types of assets and liabilities must also be considered. For instance, an organization's current assets (cash, receivables, securities, etc.) should be sufficient to cover its current liabilities (payables, deferred revenue, current year loan, and note payments). Otherwise, the organization may face solvency problems. On the other hand, an organization whose cash and equivalents greatly exceed its current liabilities might not be putting its money to best use.

- We disaggregate data to adjust programming goals to keep pace with changing needs of the communities we support.
- We engage everyone, from the board to staff levels of the organization, in race equity work and ensure that individuals understand their roles in creating culture such that one’s race identity has no influence on how they fare within the organization.
