Goals & Strategy

Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
First, we exist to facilitate emotional and spiritual healing to girls and women (ages 12 and up) while restoring dignity, virtue, and honor to them, and empowering each to embrace her God-given identity. We achieve this purpose through professional Christian counseling services.
Second, knowing that high cost is an extreme barrier to women receiving quality counseling services, we offer significantly-discounted fees, providing access to affordable, long-term, individual counseling opportunities. Our counseling and support services address issues including, but not limited to, depression, anxiety, poor self-image and identity, unhealthy relationships, disordered eating and body image issues, sexuality, and the effects of past abuse (sexual, mental, emotional, physical).
Our priority goal is to improve women's emotional, mental and spiritual health as we guide them toward improved self-confidence and a healthier identity. When a woman receives counseling, it often results in improved functioning within her entire sphere of influence. The skills she learns are introduced and utilized in the family, providing a carry-over affect to the entire family system. This can stop negative patterns that, for many, are generational. Ultimately, we want to positively impact a woman's overall behavior and thought patterns to bring about an improved quality of life for the individual, her family, and her community.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
I. Organizational Development: To grow and develop organization
II. Business Development: To increase market visibility, community awareness and education
III. Financial Stewardship: To become financially sustainable through direct services, individual support, church support, and major fundraising events
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
The capabilities of our organization rests in the hands of cutting-edge, professional clinicians and hard-working volunteers.
All staff members associated with the program are required to hold a Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, or other related field. They must be fully licensed or have met requirements to be provisionally licensed as an LPC, LPC-A, LCSW, LMFT, and/or Clinical Psychologist. Currently, we have Licensed Professional Counselors and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists on staff.
We are blessed by more 100 volunteers giving countless hours each year to assist us in fundraising events/efforts, service on the Board of Directors, service on Board Committees (i.e. Marketing, Financial Stewardship, etc.), and as weekly phone receptionists in our office.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
The effectiveness of our program was recognized with a prestigious award granted by GlaxoSmithKline. Restoration Place was one of 5 agencies to win the IMPACT Award, which rewards excellence in the non-profit healthcare community to agencies who provide access to healthcare for underserved people.
Founded in 2005, Restoration Place has grown each year with the increasing need for counseling at affordable prices. We have served more than 4500 clients in total. In 2017, we received 752 new referral calls and completed 7,500 counseling sessions annually. Our projections for 2019 are 900 new referral calls and approximately 8600 counseling sessions. Sixty percent of these sessions utilize our significantly-discounted sliding fee scale.
Yet, nothing speaks to the accomplishments of our program better than our clients' testimonials:
-I am finally able to start letting go of my past and knowing that it's okay to make mistakes. I love our motto: 'Imperfect progress'! If I had to pay more than what I do now, I wouldn't be coming to counseling and I wouldn't be getting the help that I need. I love coming each week into such an open and inviting atmosphere. Each room is different and just gives off good vibes. I love my counselor and how well we get along. I can be having a bad day and want to fall back into bad habits but the thought of having to tell her about it makes me stop and think and choose differently! (25 year old)
-Restoration Place is well-run from reception (Heather) to the way the place is kept (neat and attractive) to the counseling services which are superb. It gives me hope that life can be better. I can't say enough about my counselor - she is professional, kind, and non-judgmental. My sense of self is better: mind, body, spirit, and soul. I am more open with others. I am more grateful and therefore my testimony is better. The world is a less dark, fearful place. (54 year old)
-Since I began counseling at RPC, I have grown tremendously. The compassion I have received propelled my ability to change, and I fully trust my counselor to give me wise counsel. I am now LIVING, not looking for a way out of this life! I have had to pay approximately $120 per counseling session in the past before coming to RPC and I was unable to continue treatment long enough to see real change. I am so thankful I found RPC – I owe you my life. You literary gave me my life back! (37 year old)
-I have noticed a significant decrease in my anxiety. I absolutely love my relationship with my counselor and feel like I can truly confide in her. I have noticed from week to week that I look forward to coming to RPC just to talk and feel like someone truly takes an interest in seeing and helping me through the healing process of a lifetime of hurts and abuse. For once, I feel like there is hope. Affordability plays a major role in my coming here – being a full-time college student, it is such a blessing to be able to pay only $25 for great counseling! (20 year old)

Balance sheetFiscal Year: Jan 01 - Dec 31
The balance sheet gives a snapshot of the financial health of an organization at a particular point in time. An organization's total assets should generally exceed its total liabilities, or it cannot survive long, but the types of assets and liabilities must also be considered. For instance, an organization's current assets (cash, receivables, securities, etc.) should be sufficient to cover its current liabilities (payables, deferred revenue, current year loan, and note payments). Otherwise, the organization may face solvency problems. On the other hand, an organization whose cash and equivalents greatly exceed its current liabilities might not be putting its money to best use.

Cindy Mondello
Restoration Place Counseling, an organization that serves girls and women (ages 12 and up), was founded by Cindy Mondello in the spring of 2005. A group of close friends, along with Cindy's mentor, met on February 20, 2005, and the vision for Restoration Place was cast. The organization was incorporated on April 25 and received its 501(c)3 status on July 14, 2005.
The organization was founded with a vision to facilitate emotional and spiritual healing in girls and women, while restoring dignity, virtue, and honor to them, and empowering each to embrace her God-given identity. This purpose is achieved by providing significantly-discounted counseling services, thus eliminating the barrier of high cost and resulting in access to the care clients may otherwise be unable to receive.
