Mission

Flathead Shelter Friends is nonprofit all-volunteer organization dedicated to raising funds to support the Flathead County Animal Shelter in its efforts to find loving homes for EVERY adoptable dog and cat. Our mission is to increase pet adoption, to improve the quality of life for shelter animals and to promote responsible pet ownership through our fundraising efforts.

Vouchers for Senior Pets

FSF has raised funds to provide veterinary care vouchers for adopters of Senior pets from the Flathead County Animal Shelter. Each adopter of a senior cat or dog will receive a $250 voucher which can be redeemed at participating County Veterinarians' offices. This program is ongoing and has helped over 100 senior cats and dogs and their new families - SO FAR!

FSF has created Cracker's Fund, which provides emergency medical care for unforeseen medical issues to adopters of recently adopted pets.

FSF has funded numerous projects to aid the Flathead County Animal Shelter, and will continue to do so as needed. Past projects include:

1. Purchase of a new X-Ray Machine and additional medical equipment (2015)
2. Funding for a disaster preparedness building and shelves, enabling the Flathead County Animal Shelter to prepare for fires, flooding, etc. (2016)
3. Funding for creation of kennel doors to allow outside access for dogs.
4. Upgrades to Cat enclosures.
