Food Assistance

MUM provides food assistance to residents of Montgomery County, Maryland. Food is available through our office food pantry and mobile food pantry. Residents must provide proof of identity and residency. Food is available every 30 days per household.

MUM's office pantry is open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 10AM to 12PM and from 1PM to 3PM. Appointments are preferred, but walk-ins are accepted. Our office pantry is located at 11002 Veirs Mill Rd., Suite 710, Silver Spring, MD. MUM's mobile food pantry serves people on the first Sunday of each month from 2PM - 4PM at Aspen Hill Christian Church, 13501 Georgia Ave., Silver Spring, MD 20906.

MUM provides financial assistance for rent to individuals and families who have suffered temporary financial setbacks and are facing eviction. Recipients must be Montgomery County residents living in one of these zip codes: 20902, 20906, 20853, 20895 or 20896.

Residents must provide proof of residency (such as diver's license or utility bill), proof of income, past due rent notification and eviction notice. Circumstances that created the need must be provided when applying. Montgomery County Health and Human Services (HHS) and/or Housing Opportunities Commission (HOC) must be contacted, and a referral obtained, before applying to MUM for past-due bills over $300.
