In many places around the world, children do not have access to education, medical care, or other basic necessities. In Ukraine, parents of children with special needs are encouraged to put their children in state care. These children are sent to institutions where they are often subjected to abuse and neglect. There is little support, financial or emotional, for parents who choose to keep their children at home with them. Meanwhile, the children who live in the institutions need loving caregivers, cheerful surroundings and basic supplies, which are often in short supply. Children in the Philippines who live in extreme poverty lack access to quality healthcare. They are often denied government assistance, so medical conditions that could have been treated become life- threatening. This is particularly true of children with special needs. Even healthy children need tools to succeed in school, such as uniform, shoes, books, and supplies. These basic needs are often not met.

Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
Maya's Hope works to improve the quality of life of orphaned, impoverished, and special-needs children on a global scale. Whether providing funding for loving caregivers, vitamin-rich formula, or access to quality medical care, Maya's Hope improves lives, one child at a time!
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
Through sponsorship and donations, donors provide funds to help with our programs which provide consistent care, education and access to medical care. Maya's Hope identifies children and families who are in great need and monitors the progress of each child through our charity partners in both the Philippines and Ukraine. We provide updates through social media to allow transparency of our programs and funding.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
Maya's Hope thrives thanks to the leadership of the board, its volunteers, donors and staff. Maya's Hope has strategic partnerships with charities that implement our programs in Ukraine and the Philippines. From New York City, we improve and save lives one child at a time.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
Maya’s Hope is currently sponsoring and providing care for 500+ children in the Philippines and 600+ children in institutions and foster homes in Ukraine. Since 2010, more than 45 children have been adopted thanks to awareness spread by Maya’s Hope. More than 60 life-saving medical procedures have been performed.
Maya's Hope has expanded from one charity partner in Zaporizhia, Ukraine to 4 partners in both Eastern and Western Ukraine. Maya's Hope has taken children with rare conditions to help provide medical assistance. We plan on expanding our program in the Philippines to include more children with special needs.

Financial data
Maya's Hope Foundation Inc
Balance sheetFiscal Year: Jan 01 - Dec 31
The balance sheet gives a snapshot of the financial health of an organization at a particular point in time. An organization's total assets should generally exceed its total liabilities, or it cannot survive long, but the types of assets and liabilities must also be considered. For instance, an organization's current assets (cash, receivables, securities, etc.) should be sufficient to cover its current liabilities (payables, deferred revenue, current year loan, and note payments). Otherwise, the organization may face solvency problems. On the other hand, an organization whose cash and equivalents greatly exceed its current liabilities might not be putting its money to best use.

Founder and President
Maya Crauderueff
Following the loss of her mother in 2008, Maya Crauderueff traveled to the Philippines to visit orphanages, where she found many children living in deplorable conditions. Upon her return to New York City, she reached out to companies asking for donations of products, which she forwarded to those orphanages. As the project to send goods grew, her friend Michael Meltzer suggested she start a non-profit organization and, in 2010, Maya's Hope became a registered 501(c)3 charity in New York City.
What began with individual child sponsorships soon grew to include funding caregivers, formula, medical emergencies and more. Maya's Hope currently focuses on children in both the Philippines and Ukraine who are living in extreme poverty, in institutions, or have special needs.
With the help of the board members and volunteers, Maya has grown the organization from a small-scale effort to help poor children in slum areas to a successful 501(c)3 that saves and improves children’s lives in a variety
