Mission
The Smile Big movement is dedicated to building a foundation of support and love to LGBTQ+ youth and young adults. We are a community that has come together with a mission to combat the ever increasing rates of homelessness and mental health crisis in our community. It is our commitment to provide crisis outreach, mental health resources, clothing, food, shelter, job assistance, and a community that cares. Let us show you that a SMILE goes a long way.

PRISM Club
PRISM Club stands for Peer Relationships that are Inclusive, Safe, and Meaningful. Our PRISM Club meetings are designed for LGBTQ+ youth and young adults. These meetings offer an opportunity to listen to guest speakers who are prominent members of the LGBTQ+ community and its allies. It offers favorable circumstances for these peers to socialize and come together in support of one another to discuss topics they can all relate to.

Smile Big Tx began in the spare bedroom of Founder and President, Ashton Hammer, with a few close friends, an overused Cricut, and a mission to make an impact.
Our vision of providing support and outreach to the LGBTQ+ youth and young adults spread faster than we could have ever imagined as the community welcomed our movement with open arms.
Within a few short months, this seedling program grew into a full-fledged movement, and we continue to grow and blossom at an incredible pace by the day.

I was raised in Amarillo, TX , graduating from Caprock High School. I attended Amarillo College and received my Associates in The Art of Education and WTAMU receiving my Bachelors in Interdisciplinary Studies. I have always shared a vision of justice and equality for the future of the LGBTQ+ community and I am thrilled to be a part of a nonprofit that caters to the LGBTQ+ youth and young adults that so desperately need our help. I am confident that Smile Big Texas will change hearts and lives in our community! My family consists of my wife, myself, and our pets, life couldn’t be sweeter!
I am definitely blessed with such a considerate and compassionate partner in love and life!
