Mission

Camp Liberty is committed to the local church. We believe in the authority and importance of the local church, and the pastoral leadership which oversees it. We were never established to be a replacement for the church, nor do we possess any autonomy over any individual local assembly. We submit ourselves as a resource and tool for local churches in ministering to their campers. We seek to elevate and enhance a love for the church in every camper. We desire to model servant leadership with a spirit of humility and grace. We strive to be like our Savior, for he came not to be served, but to serve. As a staff, we want to remove all distractions and humbly submit ourselves to meet the needs of our guests and friends. We desire to excel in every area of camping ministry!

What we aim to solve

SOURCE: Self-reported by organization

Young people in the state of Texas need to hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ and make a decision about what they hear. Religion has gripped our country, but it is Jesus Christ who needs to grip our hearts. The need for Christ's love in young peoples lives has never been needed more! Conditions such as depression, addictions, selfishness are all a result of one thing: sin! Youth in the state of Texas need to hear that there is answer to the needs they are faced with. There is a God in Heaven who loves them and gave the greatest gift of love that was ever given!

These camps are centered around time in the Bible (Bible study, memorization, services, and cabin devotions). Activities available to the campers include archery, riflery, fishing, group games, land navigation, fire starting, and more!

Goals & Strategy

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

Camp Liberty is a place of decision for young people in the state of Texas. Whether the decision is to believe the Gospel of Jesus Christ, or to surrender to follow His will for their life, the goal is to bring them to a place of decision. We want campers to come and get away from the distractions of their normal surroundings in order take time to hear, study, and read God's Word.

Through partnering with local churches around the state of Texas, we host weeks of camp, weekend retreats, and various other activities throughout the year. All of our activities focus on the preaching, teaching, and reading of the Bible.

Our programs, facilities, and grounds will all work towards keeping the campers focus on Christ. We have a unique opportunity at camp to keep the focus off of distractions in order to develop strong relationships between church youth workers and their teenagers. The stronger these relationships can be, the greater the opportunity that the decisions they make at camp will be kept when they go home to serve in their local church.

Purpose Progress: We have had 2 summers of camp. In 2022 we were able to have our first official summer of camp! This saw 2 weeks of camp with around 30 campers. In 2023 we were able to have 4 weeks with 60 campers with us over the summer! We are growing every year and we can't wait to see what the Lord has in store for 2024.

Building Projects:
Phase 1 Complete - We currently have four cabins, two bathroom facilities, one Main building, and one staff house on 42.5 acres. The cabins are capable of housing nine campers each plus 1 counselor. That brings our max capacity to 36 campers.

Phase 2 Project - The next phase includes important infrastructure work, leveling and grading of our game field, and building a large meeting facility to prepare for future growth of the camp and for use during large events.

Balance sheet

Fiscal Year: Jan 01 - Dec 31

SOURCE: IRS Form 990 info

The balance sheet gives a snapshot of the financial health of an organization at a particular point in time. An organization's total assets should generally exceed its total liabilities, or it cannot survive long, but the types of assets and liabilities must also be considered. For instance, an organization's current assets (cash, receivables, securities, etc.) should be sufficient to cover its current liabilities (payables, deferred revenue, current year loan, and note payments). Otherwise, the organization may face solvency problems. On the other hand, an organization whose cash and equivalents greatly exceed its current liabilities might not be putting its money to best use.
