Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Feral Cat Trap Neuter Release (TNR) Program
FREE FERAL/STRAY CAT SPAY/NEUTER PROGRAM
The Humane Society of Garland County is still offering free spay/neuter and rabies shots for feral and stray cats. This program will assist in cutting down on the over population of feral cats and cut down on the diseases spread and kitten births in the wild. If you or a neighbor have stray cats that are being fed, if they are not spay, they will multiply very quickly. Then next year you will have double or triple the number of cats.
We do not do surgeries every day, so please call the Humane Society at 501-623-5012 so we can set the next available appointment for you. Then you will bring them in on the appointment day, and pick them up the same afternoon to release them in the environment they are surviving in. We do have traps to loan if needed.
Adoption Program
We take in stray, abandoned, neglected, or otherwise unwanted dogs and cats and provide needed vet care, including spay/neuter, vaccines, and heartworm testing and treatment if positive. We then shelter them until they are placed into prescreened permanent homes. We also accept foster applications. We advertise via our website, Facebook, and complimentary ads in the local newspaper.

Balance sheetFiscal Year: Jan 01 - Dec 31
SOURCE: IRS Form 990
The balance sheet gives a snapshot of the financial health of an organization at a particular point in time. An organization's total assets should generally exceed its total liabilities, or it cannot survive long, but the types of assets and liabilities must also be considered. For instance, an organization's current assets (cash, receivables, securities, etc.) should be sufficient to cover its current liabilities (payables, deferred revenue, current year loan, and note payments). Otherwise, the organization may face solvency problems. On the other hand, an organization whose cash and equivalents greatly exceed its current liabilities might not be putting its money to best use.
