Mission

Raise a generation to change a nation. We equip the local church to raise a generation of double orphans to be nation changers in the country of Malawi. We will reach this objective by caring for double orphans in a family home, in their tribal village, in their culture, near their extended family and overseen by the local church. We are partnered with a network of churches that operates over 150 active church plants in tribal villages across southern Malawi.

What we aim to solve

SOURCE: Self-reported by organization

Our vision is to care for and raise double orphans (both parents have passed away) in a family home in their tribal village under the oversight of the local church. We want to raise a generation to change a nation.

Orphan Shade Malawi

Our programs are:
1. Build foster homes - We construct a family home in the children's village
2. Raise double orphans - We form a family of volunteer parents and 8 double orphans in the village
3.Equip the local church - Prepare the church to grow and provide ongoing support to the foster family

We conduct all of these programs in multiple villages.

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

Our 2021 goals are to build one home and invite 6 to 8 children to live in the home. Our 2022 goal is to build two homes in different villages.

We have developed relationships, purchased land in a village and have begun construction of a home.

We have partnered with a church network in southern Malawi. They have planted a church in the villages many years ago.

Additionally, we have secured a professional builder to construct the home.

The first home is 90% complete. Our next step is to select house parents and orphans to live in the home.

Balance sheet

Fiscal Year: Jan 01 - Dec 31

SOURCE: IRS Form 990 info

The balance sheet gives a snapshot of the financial health of an organization at a particular point in time. An organization's total assets should generally exceed its total liabilities, or it cannot survive long, but the types of assets and liabilities must also be considered. For instance, an organization's current assets (cash, receivables, securities, etc.) should be sufficient to cover its current liabilities (payables, deferred revenue, current year loan, and note payments). Otherwise, the organization may face solvency problems. On the other hand, an organization whose cash and equivalents greatly exceed its current liabilities might not be putting its money to best use.
