Tonia Tewell is the Founder and Executive Director of Holding Out HELP, a nonprofit organization that assists individuals who have been affected by polygamy. She developed her passion after taking families into her personal home who were leaving this culture. Realizing the gravity of the issues these families face when transitioning into mainstream society, she knew more needed to be done and started Holding Out HELP in 2008. The mission of Holding Out HELP is to provide those from a polygamous culture the care, support and resources needed to become independent and self-sufficient.
