Godly Response To Abuse in the Christian Environment
Empowering Christian communities to recognize, prevent, and respond to abuse.
Programs and results
What we aim to solve
With over 60 million child abuse survivors nationwide, we are a country riddled with abuse and the effects of it. Too often, those within the Church have been uninformed about the complexities of child abuse. This has compounded its damaging effects on individuals, families, and faith communities with inappropriate and even negligent responses to signs and disclosures of abuse. Our collective failure as Christians to properly care for the most innocent and vulnerable among us has often been devastating.
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Safeguarding Certification
Doing more to protect children and prevent the abuse of adults requires a culture change. GRACE’s Safeguarding Program helps your church, school, or any other religious community implement “best practices” to protect the vulnerable as well as address the underlying reasons abuse flourishes.
Independent Investigations & Organizational Assessments
GRACE’s team has extensive professional experience interviewing victims of abuse, perpetrators of abuse, and witnesses with relevant testimony. Our desire is to get to the truth of the matter so that compassion and assistance can be demonstrated to those who have been hurt and the institutional leaders can be equipped to make the necessary organizational changes that will create a safer community for the vulnerable and a less safe community for those who abuse.

Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
The GRACE team seeks to be faithful and obedient to Jesus' teaching and the teachings of the whole of Scripture, which we believe put great value in the compassionate care and advocacy for children and vulnerable people.
GRACE exists to equip the Church with a vision for authentic community, where responsibility, accountability, and compassion are second nature and caring for children and adult survivors of abuse are non-negotiable. Though the history of the Church can make this approach seem radical, we believe educating and empowering God's people to love the vulnerable and wounded as Jesus does is nothing more and nothing less than the fulfillment of His teaching.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
We believe, with proper education and training, churches and ministry organizations can become the safest communities for the vulnerable and the most welcoming and loving for those who have been impacted by abuse. Our strategies are to offer the very best in third-party...

— Independent Investigations
— Organizational Assessments
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
Our board and our staff are some people of the best in the field in abuse prevention training, and abuse investigation.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
Since 2004 GRACE has conducted over 20 independent investigations of ministries, churches, and mission agencies.
Since 2016 GRACE has led or is leading 40+ churches through our Safeguarding Certification.
Our GOAL over the next 5 years is to develop the capacity of GRACE so that we can train more churches per year (50-100/year), and offer more investigations per year. We are also exploring the development of a Director of Survivor Care at GRACE.
