Our programs

ArtCares for Kids
Volunteers provide art therapy to sick children in the Pediatric Cancer unit at Holtz Children's Hospital.
Healthy Eating, Healthy Living, Healthy Aging
Healthy Eating promotes wellness in schools, which teaches children about the importance of fruits and vegetables and eating well.
Healthy Living provides lectures and workshops from professionals on lifestyle practices for longevity.
Healthy Aging provides older adults with evidence-based physical fitness programs to increase quality of life.
Good Neighbor Award
Recognizing children who are good people to their: peers, teachers and community.
Citizen Scientist Project
To preserve and protect the natural resources of Key Biscayne and Virginia Key by informing and educating residents of Miami-Dade County.
1. Implementing an environmental education continuum;
2. Supporting programs to monitor water quality
3. Promoting sea level rise and climate change best practices.
Village of Empathy
The Village of Empathy is a program to create: 1) engaged leaders, who understand the rights and responsibilities of citizenship; 2) empathetic youth through ADL and Ashoka programming; and, 3) a Sister City Initiative with Liberty City.
Key to Giving
The Key to Giving is a program that allows individuals in our community an opportunity to support the greater community by making a charitable gift to twelve nonprofits that are making a big difference throughout greater Miami in the areas of: youth education, community prosperity, women and children, families in need.
Key Biscayne Women's Giving Circle
The Key Biscayne Women’s Giving Circle is devoted to growing philanthropy among women, with the aim of identifying and financially supporting programs for women and/or children in need throughout Miami-Dade County.
Active Seniors on the Key
Active Seniors on the Key (A.S.K.) is an organization of seniors over 50 who work together to provide a wide range of volunteer activities that allow seniors to continue living independently on Key Biscayne. The A.S.K. club helps serve the needs and interests of senior citizens on Key Biscayne. ASK Club members enrich lives by volunteering to build and strengthen beneficial community activities. Trips, luncheons, health and wellness activities, and special events are ongoing.
iPads for Soldiers
iPads For Soldiers mission is to purchase and donate iPads to US Soldiers serving in Afghanistan and those wounded stateside in military hospitals in order to increase social and emotional wellbeing through communication with loved ones and opportunities to learn and connect.
Fab Lab Miami
Fab Lab Miami aims to inspire and nurture the pursuit of coursework and careers in STEAM through a maker-driven, hands-on experience with digital fabrication and STEAM activities.

What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
Our mission is to enable, facilitate, and empower residents to make a positive difference in the local, greater, and global community through grant-making, programs, fiscal sponsorship, and community leadership. Our goal is to have all Key Biscayne residents make the local and greater community a better place to live through charitable giving of time, talent, and treasure.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
Our strategy to creating a better local and greater community is accomplished two-fold: 1) by bringing local stakeholders, who want to make a difference in the local and greater community, to the table and 2) by encouraging giving and grant-making through charitable funds.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
Invested in our community and responding to your ideas, our community team acts as the front door to the Foundation. We do this in order to enable, facilitate and empower residents to make a positive difference in the local, greater and global community.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
We have made significant progress, which is indicated in our increased charitable giving to the greater community. Our progress is also notable in our community programs such as: the Citizen Scientist Project, the Village of Empathy, Healthy Aging, and various cultural events as well as our numerous partnerships.
