What we aim to solve

SOURCE: Self-reported by organization

The organization was the idea and wish of Emily Del Vecchio. A child with cancer, who before her passing, wanted to help the other children in the hospital by providing them with things that could help them with the boredom of long hospital stays.

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

Our goal, is to provide directly to children with cancer, as well as to children's hospitals, tablets, laptops, gaming systems, and other items that can provide the children with forms of entertainment.

We work directly with Child Life Specialists in children's hospitals to identify those children who can be enriched with a tablet or laptop directly, as well as with the hospitals to help with their overall entertainment needs, such as providing them with items for the hospital's game rooms.

Our capabilities depend largely on the amount of donations we are able to secure throughout the year. Many of the items, such as laptops and gaming carts, can cost several thousand dollars. With tablets becoming more popular among families, the demand for individual tablets has decreased. However, the demand for larger gaming systems for the hospital has increased.

We have provided tablets, kindles, and laptops along with keyboards, cases, and pens/styluses to many children across the country. We have provided furnishings such as air hockey tables, trains, and toy kitchenettes for hospital game rooms. We have also purchased mobile gaming system carts that allow games, such as Xbox and PlayStation, to be delivered to children's rooms as many are unable to leave their bedside.
