Notes from the nonprofit

2022 was again the best year yet for the Dave Parker39 Foundation. While group gatherings, (our Educational Events for Caregivers and Patients) were still on pause due to congregating large numbers of susceptible people, the public responded once again to our fund-raising efforts with wonderful generosity. Our Cobra Classic Golf Celebrity Outing had the largest turnout in its 8 years. we expect that this response will allow us to increase our donations to the UC Gardner Neuroscience Institute and /or the Dave Parker39 Foundation Gardner Center Critical are Fund whose goal is: • To support clinical initiatives to enhance and support care of patients within the Gardner Center for Parkinson's Disease and Movement Disorders. Examples of support could include, but are not limited to: operational support for a social worker, nutritionist, or needed staffing, capital/equipment, or educational programs within the clinic for patients and caregivers.

What we aim to solve

SOURCE: Self-reported by organization

so many Parkinson's patients feel alone, even with over 1 million people afflicted with this condition, most patients see their own doctors and receive treatment but don't always hear about the latest treatments, support or advancements. Much of the support needed is for the caregivers, who deal with the effects of Parkinson's everyday with their loved ones. They need to be aware of new exercises & therapy , as well as medical procedures (like Deep Brain Stimulation) and medicines.

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

Through our efforts and Dave's position in the public eye, we strive to provide the type of educational support that will make the caregivers task a bit easier and help the patients understand that everyday new and exciting advancements are being made in the greater realm of treatment for and living with Parkinson's.In addition to our fund raising efforts , Dave is very active in the Parkinson's community in Greater Cincinnati and helps numerous other Parkinson's organizations in their fundraising efforts. Many of these are direct contributors as is the Dave Parker 39 Foundation) to the UC Gardner Neuroscience Institute at the University Of Cincinnati Medical Center and their current 60 million dollar construction of a new neuroscience building designed to assist all Neuroscience disease suffers.

Our goals for 2018 are to expand our list of Partners, Sponsors and contributors, increasing the funds with which we can perform our educational efforts and contribute to the UC Gardner Center and other Parkinson's research facilities.

Our board has a combined history of over 40 years worth of experience in producing successful Golf Outings, which is our main fund raiser. In addition, as mentioned above, we work closely with some other Parkinson's groups and are joining together with the Cincinnati Reds to market a "Parkinson's Awareness Night at the Reds" on April 24th 2017. This will be a "Give back" event where we, with the Reds and the other organizations and will promote the Game and recieve a portion of the ticket sales for the allotted section(s) of seats. We also intend to work with other groups who hold fund raisers and who designate a charity as their recipient and hope to have some of these events scheduled during the first quarter of 2018.

Each year we have been able to increase the net from our golf outing while still being able to offer it at the same value to golfers and without increasing our sponsorship levels. In addition we have been able to produce our first public educational event that drew a nice group of Parkinson's interested folks . For 2018 we are starting our solicitation for sponsors and contributors earlier ( letters have already gone out in December '17) , and we have our first educational event for the year already planned and will begin marketing it right after the first of the year. Our Sponsors and partners receive recognition at all of these events.
