What we aim to solve New!

There is a chronic teacher shortage in developing countries. The greatest challenge lies in countries in sub-Saharan Africa and Latin America.

According to estimates presented in the Teachers And Educational Quality by UNESCO, the regions will need to raise its current teacher population by 68% to meet current demands.

The countries needing the most teachers also currently have the least-qualified teachers. In fact, in many countries, parents are taking on the roles of the teachers.

Our mission is to provide opportunities for kids worldwide to build a foundation for their future by engaging in free educational activities powered by state of the art e-Learning technologies.

We focus on providing education services to the children of school age (6-18), a time when the most significant and long lasting-impacts of education can make. While other age groups are important, they are not part of our target audience at this moment.

We believe the biggest impact can be made by augmenting school activities with volunteer help to provide assistance to kids where and when needed. Therefore, DTML partners with schools and educational institutions to leverage existing facilities and equipment to provide students across the educational platform. Partnering with schools allows us to measure effectiveness of the program, evaluate needs of the students and assess the quality of individual volunteers and mentors. It also allows us to tailor specific activities to the needs of the individual school. It is not our focus to open platforms for unrestricted student registration.

Schools and educational institutions often lack the necessary equipment to leverage the platform. In such cases, DTML will supply and equip schools with computers, webcams, internet routers and other equipment to be used in all school educational activities, including, but not limited to, using the DTML platform.

The measure of success for us is a reduction of school dropout rate in the institutions where the platform is implemented. Short-term success measures would be individual student performance improvement in the areas of coaching as measured by school grades. Our organizational culture is one of learning. As such we will make the most immediate use of data to inform our practices. The data from ESL tests will inform our future DTML platforms, languages, and delivery methods. We hope to develop a model for delivery that is scalable to different age groups, different languages, and in different environments.

We have been successful in creating and deploying platform to schools in Latin America and Africa. You can read more about our progress at out blog on
